Having worked for many years to Arabize the Microsoft Operating Systems, I was very excited to join QCRI in its efforts to provide the Arabic speaking world with enriched Arabic content.

Research Focus at QCRI

Majd is a senior scientist at QCRI focused on establishing and driving the Arabic Digital Content enrichment initiative to improve the current state of the Arabic Online content and the user experience of the Arabic Internet users.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining QCRI, Majd established the Bi-Directional Windows Localization team at Microsoft Corporation and was responsible for the release of multiple international versions of Microsoft Windows as well as the creation of the Emerging Markets team for Windows International. In addition, Majd was responsible for the strategic language planning for the Microsoft Desktop Applications and the overall Windows and Windows Live International’s Outsourcing Strategy.
